Q-I’m a Part Time Unit Professional. Do I get paid sick leave? A- Not under that name. However, if you worked a total of at least 225 hours in one or more day division units during the previous fiscal year (July 1-June 30), you receive 15 hours of All-purposed Paid Leave, often called APPL (pronounced “Apple”) Time. How you use the leave is up to you. You can use it to cover absences due to sickness or other purposes including school holidays or for a mini vacation. If you worked more than 900 hours total in the previous year, you get 22.5 hours of all-purpose paid leave. To collect, you need to fill out a leave form and receive approval from your supervisor.
